This is the process we follow inside the Gut Restore Method — a proven framework, completely customized to your case.

  • Getting to know your health history — basically everything that’s happened in your life until this point — is the first step.

    I always want to feel like I have the most comprehensive understanding of you as a person, your health history, and what you have experienced in your life leading to this point. This helps me make the most well-informed, personalized recommendations to help you get the best results possible.

    This step includes two main facets:

    1. A deep-dive, comprehensive health history analysis (to determine potential root causes, and what may have lead up to your symptom presentation)

    2. A nutrition and lifestyle audit (to assess for where there may be opportunities for us in our work together!)

  • Here’s where we consider your health history and lifestyle audit, and we ask: what simple nutrition and lifestyle contributors do we have the opportunity to tweak and adjust?

    We also ask: Which types of strategic labwork might we consider to find more answers?

    We may consider:

    • bloodwork and micronutrient testing (we love to lean on what you have accessible to them via insurance coverage!)

    • conventional labs and diagnostic screenings

    • functional labs (stool tests, hormone panels, micronutrient testing, organic acids, etc.)

    Labs can help us get much more clear on various root causes that could be driving your symptoms, that we aren’t 100% sure on through analyzing symptoms 🤓

  • This is where we hone in on the important stuff (the foundations), while also bringing in symptom-relief strategies, to help you feel better ASAP while we work on root cause.

    Some of the foundations we’ll look at here are: personalized nutrition considerations, sleep, circadian rhythm & rest, digestive function support, blood sugar regulation, nervous system & stress management, movement and exercise, dexotidication, hydration, mental/emotional health (within my scope), and more

    Symptom-relief strategies may include herbal and supplemental supports, therapeutic diets or nutrition strategies, lifestyle tools and therapy

  • We can use lab results, diagnostic screenings, bloodwork to our advantage — they can help inform the healing process and make strategic plans to address imbalances 🧪

    Targeted healing protocols may look like therapeutic dosages, therapeutic diets, gut healing protocols (like H.Pylori, or SIBO, or candida eradication, microbiome restoration, or gut barrier repair), targeted mineral support, and more.

    This is an important part of the healing journey, because even though the foundations make a huge influence on how we feel, it may take something like H. pylori, or mold, or candida eradication (or whatever) to resolve symptoms.

  • More often than not, the healing process is it’s multi-faceted, layered, and will likely require a phased approach. It’s not unusual that a pivot (or multiple) may be required depending on progress, that we may need to pivot if we land at a plateau or get stuck, or that there are additional areas we want to investigate or dive deeper into, depending on your goals (sometimes I’ll have clients want to work on GI issues, then we want to look further at supporting their hormones and menstrual cycle, etc.).

  • I always tell my clients: It’s important, yes, to address & resolve symptoms bothering them now, but it’s also critical that we establish sustainable foundations that’ll help maintain good gut health LONG term — so you don’t end up back in the exact same spot in the future.

    In this final step, we focus on two things:

    • Re-evaluating the foundations to make sure the fundamentals are dialed in (this is what’s really going to support your long-term gut health and wellness)

    • Having toolkits available to you for when life happens (ie. in the case of flare-ups, antibiotic use, food poisoning, whenever you might need a “reset”)

    This looks different for everyone — and it’s all completely personalized based on your health history, circumstance and lab results.

  • Functional labs are a subset of labs (including blood, urine, stool, breath samples), that help us gather more information about what may be contributing to/causing your symptoms. I love using functional labs as a tool in my practice to help clients get to the bottom of what’s going on with their gut health and digestion.

    I’m able to run a variety of labs, and my recommendations will depend on the client and their case presentations, but some of the common ones I run for clients are: the GI MAP stool test, SIBO breath test, DUTCH hormone test, and HTMA mineral test.

    Other tests like SIBO, OAT, etc. are also tests that I may run in addition to these labs. I am also able to look at bloodwork that my clients often have run through their PCP! (For clients in the USA there are certain blood panels that I can order, like a comprehensive thyroid panel, as well)

  • I don’t accept insurance, but some HSA’s and extended benefits packages will cover my services as a Certified Nutrition Practitioner.
